Regular timetable resumes on Monday, 8th September.

Here is a brief description of our yoga classes to help you choose the class most suitable for you.

The aim of the course is to introduce the correct actions of feet, legs, shoulders and arms when performing asanas. Mainly standing asanas are performed and actions for performing seated, forward, backward and inverted stretching asanas are introduced. Through correct foot and leg work, arms and shoulders, the student learns to correct the position of the pelvis and his or her own posture, harmonizing the lumbar, dorsal and cervical spine tracts. The IYENGAR®Yoga teacher guides the student with precise instruction tailored to individual needs. The body becomes more active, sensitive and intelligent; the mind quiet and receptive.

Beginners plus

A beginner yoga student is typically introduced to standing poses dynamically as the foundation of their practice. This class is suitable for new students as well as for everyone new to the Iyengar yoga method as well as ongoing students.
You will feel challenged, mentally inspired, encouraged to establish a home practice, and feel the benefits from the first class.

General

This class is for those students with experience in basic standing yoga poses and also familiar with the shoulderstand pose. In this general class, new postures are introduced ,like forward bends, backbends, inverted poses and restorative poses. You will learn how to incorporate the use of yoga ‘props’ to give support where needed and to help develop precision in the poses.

This class is intended for students with 3 or more years of practice of IYENGAR® Yoga. The class aims to enhance sensitivity and awareness by studying more precise and subtle actions in asana and pranayama practice. Students participating in this level should have a solid practice of standing postures, and know how to perform the inverted postures Salamba Sirsasana and Sarvangasana to suit their own needs. The class introduces more advanced actions in asana and pranayama.
