A Week of Precision, Presence, and Pause

Join us for a week of Iyengar Yoga in the serene beauty of rural Andalusia.  This escape deepens your practice through thoughtfully curated sequences and dedicated pranayama sessions. The retreat gives time to explore the asanas to deepen the understanding of the different actions. Each day includes four hours of guided learning in a fully equipped yoga studio. Wednesday will be a rest day with only two and a half hours of morning class. Ideal for an excursion.

Zagyoga escapes are intentionally structured to offer balance between focused study and spacious rest. Beyond the mat, you’ll have ample time to relax by the pool, connect with fellow practitioners, or enjoy solitude in the expansive and beautiful gardens and beyond.

This immersive week invites you to learn deeply, absorb fully, and return home renewed.

Set in a tranquil countryside location, yet just an hour from the vibrant cities of Malaga and Granada.

The property has a large (20 m) pool situated in a walled enclosure, and a courtyard garden, with a back terrace offering dining areas with sunset views over the hills. This is the perfect location to be enveloped in quietness and nature. There are also many hidden gems to discover in the surrounding countryside, including natural springs, waterfalls, and caves.

You’ll enjoy three homemade vegetarian/vegan meals daily, plus dinner on your arrival day and breakfast on your departure day. Fresh herbal tea, coffee, and water are available throughout the day.

Although the chef will do her best to accommodate different needs, her meals are prepared in a small, family-run kitchen, as a result, she’s unable to cater to coeliac disease, severe nut allergies, or strict ketogenic diets. Most dishes are naturally gluten-free, but gluten-free bread will also be available.

Please note: the accommodation is rustic and comfortable, with the quirks you might expect from a 150-year-old building. El Cachete makes every effort to be eco-friendly: water is sourced from their own well, solar panels heat the water, and they compost and recycle. The house is naturally ventilated (they don’t use air conditioning), and each room has a standing fan.

There are many places of interest within an hour’s drive of the Cortijo, inlcuding the cities of Malaga and Granada, where you can visit the awe-inspiring Alhambra Palace or watch a traditional Spanish Flamenco performance.

The nearest villages of Cuesta la Palma and Salinas are a 10 minute drive away where you will find some local shops and cafes.
